Phew! I was afraid I might never know the name of the song where the woman was saying "Can you say Japan? My name is 42."
Thanks for putting your playlists up.
I always enjoy your show. And your voice is as sweet as Fruity Pebbles®.
hello! thank you for writing. it is very exciting.
yes, miranda july is special. she just made a movie called "me and you and everyone we know" and it is playing at the spectrum. i liked it very much. there was a major swear word in that song! i wish i could have included it although i suspect part of it got out.
leg.
Hi there, I love the show, I love your refreshing voice in the madness of morning commute, I agree, that song about SUMMER was great, which song was that on you playlist?
peace.

Howdy leg,
So, I was listening to the show early this morning while I finished up some last minute retouching and one song had a really familiar sound, so I looked up the refrain on itunes and it turns out it was a Tegan and Sara song (no wonder it sounded familiar). So, I look at today's playlist to see what some of the songs were before and after the song ("Take Me Anywhere") and it isn't listed! You are so busted!
Sorry for the exclamation points!!

p.s. How was Akron/Family?
Just wanted to say that I've been listening to your show for a while now, and I always enjoy it. Especially loved that summer song you played today, and you had a great mix of newer and older stuff. For an old indie rocker like myself, it was awesome to hear familiar faves YLT and Orange Juice along with new material!
" I agree, that song about SUMMER was great, which song was that on you playlist?"
i think that's the song "again this summer" by fizzle like a flood from their new album.
"You are so busted!"
i swear i didn't miss any songs! what is the chorus? did it sound like tegan and sara?
"How was Akron/Family?"
i did not attend. bret reported that the family didn't go on stage until 12:45am. but he said that it was truly great. the family is back in albany at valentines on august 31. i'll be there. pretty sure since there's no early morning radio the next day!
perhaps you've noticed that the culture czars at metroland have picked the bestest of the bestest. (perhaps you haven't) perhaps you've noticed that the pony in the pancake, the greatest show in the world, and the hardest working cousins in show business, were overlooked by said culture czars. is pony in the pancake not the bestest of the bestest? (answer=yes) the p.i.p. (r.i.p. d.o.a.) aren't on the horizon, like ye old riders of the purple sage, they are past the horizon...burners u.k. don't have a noose around the neck of you helloprettycity listeners (stop the springsteen covers! down with hall and oates covers!). but you wouldn't know it for looking! burners u.k. are the cattle stuck in the quicksand! stuck mooing in the quicksand! the p.i.p. will lay albany to waste if you do not respect them! like sherman's march! like paul revere on his midnight ride! like the tea party! tea party! tea party! tea party! tea party! now say it! p.i.p. r.i.p. d.o.a.
yes.
that you are correct.
the best of issue was empty.
the poni in the pancake should have been in there.
but who cares? it's metroland, which knows nothing for sure.
Damn, I was totally wrong. The refrain that I wrote down was "Anywhere in the World Tonight", but I think it went something like "You can take me anywhere, anywhere in the world tonight". I didn't listen far enough into the Tegan and Sarah song to realize it wasn't the same...I guess it didn't sound like T&S, it just sounded familiar like T&S.
If it wasn't Tegan and Sarah, who is it?
bp
yesh. it's a quandary.
