a little more info:

Area musician Matthew Loiacono started the Open Ears series with the
idea to feature out of town acts who are passing by the Capitol Region
and are willing to perform without microphones and amplifiers in front
of an appreciative audience. "I've been meeting and connecting with
tons of amazing acts since I've taken over booking for The Kamikaze
Hearts this year. I want to offer a nice, relaxing gig for the
musicians and offer the community some music they might not have heard
yet. Hopefully, folks will be curious enough each month to come and
see what is going on," says Loiacono.

This month's show, scheduled for May 22nd at 3PM, features the lovely
Jana Hunter. Jana is currently hovering in Brooklyn, but originally
hails from Texas. She has been touring the US and Europe incessantly
for the past few years. Her song "Farm, CA" was selected by freak-folk
father Devendra Banhart for inclusion on the "Golden Apples of the
Sun" compilation which features many new out folk upstarts. Troubleman
Unlimited is set to release a split recording featuring Devendra and
Jana in June of this year.
